Be my friend

Hello and happy Monday!I am here today sharing a friendship card using a beautiful sentiment from I brake for stamps.

The set is called inspirational plate #2. I am also using the ticket stamp that is part of the half sheet travel set

Sometimes I like to build my scene's around the sentiment, and this sentiment was perfect for a vintage friendship card.  I added several pieces of ephemera to add interest and finished it off with the two little girls.

Collage cards are so easy to create and often times you can use left over scraps, when put together create a great card.

Reinvent yourself

Hi everyone! I am here today sharing a couple of cards I created using set #1 of the Tim Holtz Inventor stamp sets. The set comes with two stamps and I chose to use the vintage typewriter for my cards.

If you would like to see my process video for the vintage card, you can click on the video below.

I am really loving creating with these inventor sets. The images are so crisp and large and there are so many design possibilities.  For my first card, I decided to create more of a vintage card, using sepia color tones.  I also used 2 other stampers anonymous stamp sets along with some printables from VectoriaDesigns to spell out "inventor".

I also added some stitching onto my card to help support the many layers I added. Once I had completed this card, I felt that perhaps it needed a little more color. It definitely checked the boxes for vintage, but was not sure if I liked the tone on tone.

So I created a second card using the same stamp, but designed it with much more vibrancy.

I even created a sentiment for the inside of my card. I think it goes perfectly!

Caffe Latte anyone?

Good morning! I am here today to share with you a wall hanging I created using the 7gypsies Ordre Du Jour 8×8 paper pad

This was a very easy wall hanging created using resist paper and some idea-ology products from the Tim Holtz collection.

I started out by covering my resist paper with Yellow Oxide Liquitex. It The pattern shows up quite nicely due to the resist paper.

Then I stamped some coffee rings using my coffee cup and ground expresso distress ink. I also inked up the edges using the same ink pad.

I fussy cut the books from the 7gypsies Ordre Du Jour 8×8 paper pad and adhered it to my card stock using distress collage medium

I also added some fun sentiments from some Kraft Card stock.  The Caffe Latte was stamped using foam stamps and the sentiments on the books are from one of the chit chat idea-ology sets.

finally I stamped the background with a coffee bean stamp.

This was a fun project to create and will make a great wall hanging.

Distress Resist background

Hi everyone! I recently picked up a new product called Distress Resist spray and I was anxious to give it a try.  I was able to create this beautiful background using this product along with some distress oxide inks.

If you would like to see my process video, you can click on the link below. This will demonstrate the product as well as my process for putting together this beautiful spring card.

I pulled out my sewing machine for this card and added some layers to my distress resist panel I creating. The stamp that I used to hold the flowers is called Barrel and it is from I Brake for Stamps.

I stamped it on some card stock that has some discoloration. It gave it a rustic look and really added to the details of this stamp.  I find that the distress oxide Walnut stain is the perfect color for this image.

The barrel stamp is the perfect size to hold the die cut leaves and paper roses.  A perfect Spring Card!

Floral Mother's Day Card

With Mother's Day around the corner, it is never too early to start thinking about our card designs.  I love that Mother's Day is in Spring and we can use some great vibrant colors and florals in our cards.

Today I am sharing with you a card I created using the new Collage Tissue paper from idea-ology and a great textured background.

You can see the process by visiting the video below.  Here I will give you some tips and tricks for using the collage paper along with some great Spring ephemera.

The collage paper is semi translucent and comes in four different designs. I used Floral on mine which has some beautiful colored roses and some great script background.  The three other designs are Botanical, Aviary and plain.

The background was created using the collage tissue paper as well as some texture paste through the tiles stencil.  I added Magicals to give the card some shine.

You can see some more examples using some of the same product on a post called Floral Collage Paper

You can find a complete list of the product I used below.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Floral Collage Paper

It is always a fun day in the studio when I have new products to play with and try out.  I recently picked up the new Tim Holtz idea-ology Collage Paper and was anxious to give it a try.

The paper comes in three designs. Today I am trying out the floral design. I created this wall frame along with a couple of other cards.

You can click the link below to check out the step by step process video.

The floral collage paper is great for spring cards.  I also used Lindy's Magicals and some great botanical ephemera to complete my designs.

Here is a close up on one of the cards I created using the collage paper.  I also added some turquoise corrugated paper and a metal band to give the card some great color and texture.

This card has some similar featured, but I only used torn pieces of the collage paper as an accent and focused more on the ephemera as my focal point.  I also used some texture paste and thinlet dies to create a nice spring scene.

I have listed all the products that I used to create these cards below. Happy Crafting!

We've Moved!

Hello crafty friends! Well the move is finally complete and I am now full time up in beautiful Prescott Arizona. Now I know I could have easily sent out an email to give family and friends my new address, but what fun would that be?

So instead, I decided to send out telegrams...well not real ones, but close enough!

If you would like to see how I created these cards, be sure to check out the video below.

These note cards were great fun to create. I was even able to pull out my vintage Royal typewriter to add my information on to my card.

Now while the telegram had my new mailing address, I wanted to be able to have room to write a little note to family and friends. So I did create a post card on the back with room to write a note

I also created matching envelopes! This is such a vesatile theme, it could also be used for invitation, birth announcements or an Newsworthy information you want to share.
