Monstrous

Hi everyone! I am here today to share a technique to create faux wooden planks for this Halloween card using distress stain and an embossing folder.

The stamp set that I am working with is one of the new Tim Holtz Halloween sets called Monstrous.

To create the faux wooden planks you want to take a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of heavy white card stock and dry emboss it using the wood grain embossing folder. 

Next I took Ground Expresso distress stain and covered my embossed card stock. I then cut pieces measuring 1/2 inch by 3 inches and distress the edges.

If you don't have Ground Expresso, you can easily use Walnut stain. That color would work just as well.

The stamp set I am working with is from the new Tim Holtz Halloween collection called Monstrous.
