For my first card I used the Happy Birthday 3x5 set.  I also used the Shaker Balloons Die Cut and Gift Builder Die cut.

I used the Charming Die Cut on this Graphic 45 image. To get the sentiment to raise, I cut out two extra Charming sentiments and glued all three of them together. The I adhered it directly over the die cut area on the image.

Tim Holtz - Paper Trimmer

Image
Hi everyone! I wanted to share with you a recent addition to my craft room. I currently have a big guillotine cutter that I picked up from Harbour Freight awhile ago. It works great for cutting paper, but is not very mobile.

I wanted to have a tool that was light weight and easy to transport. The Tim Holtz 8.5" guillotine cutter by tonic studios fit the bill.

I created a video to share all the features and give a quick demo. You can click below to check that out.

Here are some of the features:

Paper guard that protect fingers and prevents paper movement

Self sharpening blade with every cut
1/4" grid pattern with popular paper size marking

This paper cutter is perfect for card making and can be used with both paper and card stock.  It has a great price point and is a perfect addition to my crafting tools.
Thanks for stopping by.

Coffee Lover's Blog Hop - Tea Time

Image
Well we are here, day 7 of the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop! Today instead of sharing a Coffee Card, I am sharing a tea card.

I was inspired by my tea cup set given to me by my Mother-in-law to use the set of Architextures Trinkets – China Tea Cupsfrom Canvas Corp Brands.

My Mother-in-Law had a tea cup collection. It was something she collected her entire life. After many years of collecting, she decided it was time to pack them up. Before she did this, she let me pick whatever ones I wanted. I picked out a few and display them proudly. She has since then passed away. These little cups bring back nice memories of her.

I used a piece of designer paper from the 7gypsies – Architextures Paper Pad. I cut out a piece of coordinating card stock and embossed it using one of my embossing folders.

I adhered the designer paper, a piece of lace and a scalloped circle onto the distressed embossed paper.

I added the tiny tea cup to the center of my scalloped circle and added some "Tea Party" t…

Tonight I Dream...

Hi everyone! I am here today to share with you my very last post as a design team member for Simply Stamps. It has been great fun being part of this team and I hope that you have enjoyed my inspiration along the way.

I created this card using a stamp from So Suzy Stamps and a custom sentiment from Simply Stamps. While this is one stamp, I was able to split up the sentiment by inking the top part first, then the bottom portion.

For the background, I used distress oxides. Before adding the oxides, I cut out a piece of post it note paper with a round die cut and used it to create my moon.

Then I swiped my the faded jeans and fossilized amber distress oxide onto my craft mat. I then spritzed the ink with water and dabbed my card stock onto the wet ink.

Using my MISTI, I was able to get a nice clean crisp image of the two cats in the tree as well as the sentiment.  To finish off the project, I splattered some black soot distress paint onto the background and matted the finished project onto s…

Happy Day 6 of the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!

I love working with digital images. I can create any size I need and add my personal sentiments. The program I used for this is PicMonkey. I use this program for all my digital projects.

The Image is from Bugaboo and the sentiment is one of my own. Feel free to download it for your personal use. The Die cut is from STAMPlorations and they are having a big birthday celebration going on right now.

Coffee Lover's Blog Hop - Day 5

Image
Why is it that many people retire at the beginning of summer? It makes sense for teachers as it is the end of the school year, but not so much for anyone else.
In any case, that is the theme of my 5th card for the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop.

Did you know that STAMPlorations is also celebrating their 4th birthday. I am using the Good Books and Coffee stamp set and use the technique of paper piecing for the design on the coffee cup and the books. I matted it onto some Coffee Card stock from Canvas Corp Brands.

If you want to check out their celebration I have created a link above.
