Nature toned Spring Flowers

This week we celebrated the first day of Spring. While we don't mind the winters here in Arizona, many people around the country wait anxiously for this day to come.
Now typically when you think of Spring flowers, pastels may come to mind. But as a Vintage inspired designer, I always seem to be drawn to those "earthy tone" types of colors.

Using a pack from Canvas Corp called Scraps By The Pound I created this Spring theme'd card that has lots of texture.  These packs are available in 4 different weights and contain a variety of papers, card, lace, canvas, burlap and embellishments (such as mini clothespins, tags, envelopes, etc.)

One of the pieces inside theSampler pack had an embossed piece of white paper. I colored it using using three distress paints: peeled paint, rusty hinge and fired brick. Then I sprayed it With "Woven Burlap" glimmer mist.

I then cut out 3 large and 3 medium sized flowers using some of the polka dot paper that was in the pack.

The white mesh and corrugated paper gave the card some great texture.

I adhered the flowers using foam dots to give them some dimension and finished off the card by adding a button in the center of each flower.
Thanks for stopping by!
