Winner Post - Mixed Media Card Set

Image
We had such a fun time over at the 2 year Celebration for So Suzy Stamps. As you recall, I offered up my card set as one of the prizes.  This is such a favorite of mine, so it is hard to give it up. I hope the owner of this set will love it as much as I do.

So without further ado...the winner of the card set is Christina Jones. I had such fun reading all the comments from the blog hop. So many kind words. Some even made me laugh.  Now while Random Org picked Christina, I am also picking another person to receive a few of my cards. I loved the comment from Mary Calzadilla:

You have no idea how I love thee, what a fabulous card, phineas shines here, your grunge/vintage style is absolutely stunning. You have made Phineas the king of the stamps, the colors and all the texture like a Tim Holtz fan you are reflected in this card. You should be very proud of yourself. Gorgous card. Di I say I really love it? Wink ,wink 💕😍👍🏻👏🏻

So because you made me smile, I will also send you a few car…

Lights in the sky

Image
Isn't it funny how one person can look at a stamp and see something and another person can look at the same stamp and see something completely different?  This little stamp from So Suzy Stamps, called Spray, was sitting on my desk because I hadn't used it yet. All of a sudden I saw fireworks!

I searched fireworks and this is what I had imagined!  Using different colors of chalk ink, I stamped black card stock to create a night sky filled with fireworks. I used the photo below as my inspiration.

I added some bling to center of each cluster along with Bomdiggityshizznit

What do you see when you look at this stamp? There are so many possibilities. What is also great about this stamp is that it also comes in a mini size. So many possibilities!

Rubber Stamp Destash

Image
Let's be frank...our hobby is not cheap. We always want NEW things and even used is new to us. It may not be the newest release, but it is new to us.

I took a chance and purchased a 50 "lot" of new stamps from a fellow crafter who is going through a destash as well. While I got a great deal, you do take chances when buying a "lot" of stamps.

I got some fantastic stamps to add to my collection. Several Tim holtz which I love. But there are some stamps that are just not my style, or I received duplicates.

I will be Destashing some of these items. I have also started a new Facebook group for fellow crafters to destash and find items to restock their crafty shelves. It may take me a bit of time to get pics of all these, so if there is anything you see that you may want, feel free to send me a note.

So Suzy Stamps is 2 - Let's Celebrate!

Image
Welcome to the 2nd Anniversary of So Suzy Stamps Blog Hop! We are so excited to bring you some gorgeous projects featuring the Top 10 So Suzy Stamps of all time! We even made a section on the website  so you can find the most popular stamps.  If you happen to randomly pop in, you are going to want to start at the beginning of the hop over at Kymona's blog.  But if you are coming from Chris' blog, then you are in the right place. Don't forget to leave a comment on each blog to be entered into the many draws for prizes.

I was fortunate enough to get Phineas! I Hope I did him justice. I created this background using stencils, distress ink, distress crayons and texture paste.  I also added some metal elements to signify the TWO year anniversary.

By now, this card is in its new home in New Mexico! Yes I have sent this lovely card to Suzy to help her celebrate! But we also have some amazing things for you to help us celebrate!

Decorate to inspire

Hi everyone! It is Monica from Taylormadecards4u. With Spring comes Spring cleaning in my craftroom. I go through a major destash and re organize new as well as old crafty items. But organizing is only one part of my Spring Cleaning. I like to surround myself with things and decor that inspires me.
If you know my work, then you know I love to  make vintage inspired projects. A few months ago, I shared with you this organizer that I decorated to hold my washi tape.

Well, I have added to the collection, using the same theme, Postale. I wanted my bins to look like mail slots. That is what I was going for. Do you think I achieved it?

So now I don't only have a lot of the items right at my fingertips, I have beautiful, organized bins that I can look at every time I work at my craft desk.

In order to have a chance to win the prize from our wonderful guest sponsor this month, make sure that your card has an example of a gift or present on it.  Th gift can be part of the image, in your papers or even as a prominently featured embellishment.  If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize.

Remember, you don't need to follow the theme to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month, and have your name thrown into the year end draw for some extra digital goodies.  You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of a $12.00 gift certificate fromSami Stamps.

Class Picture

Hi everyone and happy Friday!  If you have been following me for a while, then you know that I love to make layered cards. This is a technique that I have learned from some of Tim Holtz' groupies.  Many people struggle with this technique, mainly because you have to have some sense of what works well together and there are a lot of pieces that go into a layered card.

I try to tell a story with my cards or inspire a past memory. We all remember "Picture Day" don't we. Let's take a trip down memory lane.

So lets break it down. The first thing that I always start with is my focal point, which is the framed girl in this card.  I cut out 2 - 3 different sized paper to matt. The first piece is about the size of a card from a deck of cards, then about a 4.25" x 5.5" then finally a trimmed piece that fits on a 5" x 7" card base.

The card stock a lot of times will help me in the direction of the theme. In this case, the base cardstock had "Oklahom…

Coffee Lover's Card exchange

Image
As a card maker, I tend to have lots of extra cards on hand. I try new techniques, practice my coloring, and just overall enjoy the process of creating. I am part of a facebook group called Coffee Loving Paper Crafting. I found this group through one of their blog hops they hold throughout the year.

I decided to participate in the monthly card exchange. This is a way to be able to share my work as well as getting "Happy Mail" when I least expect it.

Here is the card I made this month. I used some printables from VectoriaDesigns as well as two stamps from Riley and Company. I also got to play some more with my distress Crayons.

You can find many of the products I use by visiting my Products page. Thanks for stopping by! Also, if you want to get on my list for a free Card when you least expect it, sign up for my mailing list. I would love to share one of my creations with you.
